The excitement of the Carnival will again be part of Mountain Festival. The rides, the lights, the fun! There will be rides and fun for all ages.

The Carnival will be located at the corner of Robinson and D Streets. Carnival hour are Friday, September 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 20th from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Presale tickets at a reduced price will be available at the Chamber office on August 27th. Presale tickets will be 20 tickets for $16.00, at the carnival booth ticket prices will be 1 ticket for $1.50, 20 tickets for $25.00 and 50 tickets for $45.00. Sunday, September 20th will be "Pay One Price" day from 12-8 p.m. The presale price for a wristband that will enable you to ride as often as you like will be $30.00; on Sunday at carnival booth cost is $35.00. Wrist Bands are good for Sunday, September 20th only from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Come by the Chamber office and get your Carnival presale tickets at a reduced price when they go on sale on August 27th. The last day to purchase your tickets and wristbands at this special price will be Thursday, September 17th at 3:00 p.m. For more information call 661-822-4180.

August 14th and 15th - V.F.W. Live Music and Dinner/Dance

Start your weekend on Friday, August 14th with live music and dancing. On Saturday night, come and enjoy a delicious dinner, then dance the night away under the stars to another of your favorite country bands. Dinner is served starting at 6:00 pm. The V.F.W. is located at 221 W. Tehachapi Blvd. For information, call 661-822-7500.

September 19th - Mountain Gallop 5K

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District will once again present the Mountain Gallop 5K on Saturday,September 19th. Entrants will meet at Aspen Builders Inc Activity Center/West Park, 410 West D St. Registration begins at 6:00 a.m. and the race will start at 7:00 a.m.

Early Registration $35. Day of Race Registration $40. Includes championship timing, refreshments, technical race shirt, great course, finisher's medal and awesome swag.

September 19th - Pancake Breakfast

Before heading to any of the Festival events on Saturday, September 19th, come and enjoy a pancake breakfast, sponsored by the American Legion Post 221, and prepared & served by the Kids Clubs of Tehachapi in the Veterans Hall at 125 East F Street. Breakfast will be available from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. The Girls and Boys of Kids Clubs will be serving their traditional "all you can eat" Mountain Festival Pancake Breakfast, which is sponsored by the American Legion Post 221. Pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will be available within steps of the festival parade. Tickets will be on sale in August and advance ticket prices are $6.00 for adults while children 10 years and under can eat for just $4.00. Tickets bought at the door will cost $1.00 more.

Kids Clubs provides Christian training for boys and girls ages five through fourteen. At Kids Club children learn how to stregthen themselves spiritually, physically, mentally and socially, while equipping families to become the spiritual epicenter of a childs life. During weekly meetins, children learn a variety of Bible lessons and life skills as well as participate in outings such as hiking, fishing, backpacking, derby car races, sleepovers and community service.

Kids Clubs meet at the Christian Life Assembly Church on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. September through May. Contact Christian Life Assembly, at 822-3813 for more information or to purchase tickets.

Come see the local celebrities, fun floats, high school band, horses, clowns, and much more. The entries will be judged and trophies awarded to winners. Don't forget to stop by the Entertainment Stage at Central Park for the announcement of winners. The parade route will be on F Street, from Mulberry Street to Hayes Street. August 14th & 15th - PRCA Rodeo

Come and celebrate the western heritage of Tehachapi at the 57th Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival© PRCA Rodeo August 14-15 at the Tehachapi Event Center and Rodeo Grounds on Dennison Road.

Family members of all ages will thrill to the high flying, head jerking, spine tingling excitement that only a day at the rodeo can bring. Even the most seasoned rodeo fans will be delighted by the antics of the clowns and amazed at the bravery of the bullfighters.

Festivities begin on Friday, August 14th at 7:00 pm (gates open at 5:00 pm), followed by more action on Saturday starting at 5:00 pm (gates open at 3:00 pm).

Tickets will be available at a discounted rate at Albertson's Customer Service Booth, the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, Hemme Hay in Tehachapi and Lancaster. In Bakersfield at Emporium Western Store, and Boot Barn in Bakersfield and Lancaster. Presale ticket prices are $16 for adults and $12 for children 5-10, seniors 60+ and past & active military with ID.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate prior to both performances. Gate prices are $19 for adults and $15 for children and seniors.
